國立屏東教育大學 / 音樂學系 / Author:Yu - yen Wang

This thesis contains two parts, the solo recital and the performance recital. I provide the repertoire lyrics translation and the program notes.

There are 21 songs in the solo recital. They include four periods, Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Modern. In Baroque, I sang ‘Sweeter than roses’ from “ Pausanias ” by Purcell. In Classical, I display three English art songs made by Haydn, original from “Ⅵ Original Canzonettas.” In Romantic, three Italian art songs selected from “Les soirées musicales” by Rossini, and Schumann''s “Frauenliebe und Leben, Op. 42.” In Modern, the Poulenc’s “Airs chantés, Fp. 46.” About the portion of opera, I show ‘Convien partir’ from “ La figlia del reggimento ” by Donizetti and ‘Saper vorreste’ from “ Un ballo in maschera ” by Verdi.

‘Holy and Affection’ is the title of performance recital. There are 17 songs in it. The performance recital are divided into two parts. I perform religious songs in the first part and famous art songs, opera, musical selections as well in the second part. In Baroque, I choose ‘Blute nur, du liebes Herz !’ from “ St. Matthew Passion ” by Bach. In Classical, ‘Benedictus’ from “ Missa brevis in B flat major K. 275 ” and ‘Laudate Dominum’ from“ Vesperae solennes de confessore K. 339 ” by Mozart. As to the Romanticism, “Le calvaire” and “Repentir” by Gounod, show the religious devotion of the composer. I also give two well-known Christian gospels, “Amazing grace” and “The holy city”. About the Opera, I choose ‘Ah! non credea mirarti’ from “La sonnambula” by Bellini and ‘Libiamo’ from “La traviata” by the opera master, Verdi. I also prepare six songs from “Classical Spanish songs” by Fernando Obradors. The concert ends in the Broadway’s Musical, ‘I could have danced all night’ from “My fair lady” and ‘Art is calling for me’ from “The enchantress.”
