“Come, the Light” is a short drama film. The story is about how the main female character hides the truth of her winning Mark Six from her boyfriend to test his real love for her. In order to deal with debt problems, her boyfriend desperately searches for the truth, thus making the winning of the prize known to many people. Their greediness leads to an irreversible brutal ending and the main female character becomes the most injured victim.

This film is intended to show how money ruins the harmony of ethical relationship as a result of Macau’s rapid economic development at present. In the face of the pecuniary benefits, love and familial affection are reduced to being of secondary importance. Values are distorted and human nature becomes ridiculous. The one who is actually a normal person is treated as an alien.

This dissertation will first analyze the theme, genre and script structure of the film. It will then discuss the style and aesthetics with regards to areas such as performance, cinematography and art direction. Finally, it will talk about the actual execution and will end with the assessment of the film production.
