From ancient times to the present, art of singing has been the most beloved music with most productive composition. Vocals are the instruments that each person is born with extremely attractive features because of its delicate, close, but uncontrollable. Vocal music is a necessary introductory courses for professionals who study music and has a unique attraction and influence, even for the general public who are not major in music.
This thesis is based on song cycle "Quattro canzoni dAmaranta" by Francesco Paolo Tosti (1846-1916). It is divided into six chapters. The first chapter refers to the introduction, mentioning the motivation and scope of the research. The second chapter is the evolution of Italian art songs. The third chapter describes the composers life, learning experience, and the style and characteristics. The fourth chapter introduces the life and characteristics of the poet, Gabriele dAnnunzio (1863- 1938). The fifth chapter is the analysis of the structure of music, the original lyrics and translation, the interpretation of singing, and the use of vocal techniques. Looking at the contents of the first five chapters, the sixth chapter is a conclusion.
