Dreaming is natural human activities; dreams often provide a source of inspiration for artistic creativity. This animation “Dissolve” depicts the artist's personal dreaming experiences; it reflects the most natural, primitive and un-socialized childhood human character, as well as direct expression of emotions, through interaction between the little girl, childhood playground equipment and the natural environment. However, the girl becomes the part of city people by the end of story. The intention is to satirize systematic human behavior and indifference of human relations in city life.
Since this animation piece is a representation and extension of artist’s dream, therefore the literature research will explore the theories of Freud and Jung's on dreams, furthermore to analyze relationships between dreams and art, also to analyze and categorize the various styles of dreaming image from paintings and films. Lastly, creative concept, storyboards, design elements and scenes, creative style, creative tools, and audio representation of the animation will be described, in order to comprehensively express creative philosophy and approach.
