Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to study the Aria“Voi lo sapete, o mamma”from Cavalleria Rusticana. This research is based on the opera Cavalleria Rusticana. This thesis includes the following parts: Pietro Mascagni and his operas, the origin of the composition, the analysis of the character of “Santuzza”, the analysis of the aria“Voi lo sapete, o mamma”and its interpretation and the singing style.
