This study explored the formative changes and visual effects expressed by “light” in art work through network analysis of light and art and further examined the meaning and characteristics in electro luminiscense work to present the cold and void thoughts and fantasy hidden inside mind. Then the core concept was established and “Cold Body Series”, “Light in Bottle Series” and “Suspension Series” were developed.

With the icy light effect from electro luminiscense, this study discussed the relationship between “electro luminiscense” and “icy coldness”, demonstrated the incomplete shape, the concept of reservation in bottles or the continuously rotating electro luminiscense and discussed the meanings of the work-“void”, “reservation” and “suspension”. The work expressed the work image-“freeze” in the form of suspension, reservation and repeated motion, guiding viewers to calm down, internalize, and explore the feelings hidden deep down their hearts by their subjective consciousness.

This article is in five chapters: Chapter One-Introduction, Chapter Two-Literature Review, Chapter Three-Research and Exploration for Electro Luminiscense, Chapter Four-Description about Work, Chapter Five-Summary. The process of light evolving from accompanying object to the subject in art network was studied. Then the aesthetic meaning of electro luminiscense work was discussed from the format of light art. This meaning formed the basis of work concept. Finally, study content and what had been learned was summarized in Summary. This article is briefed in below:

In Chapter One-Introduction, the argument background was organized, the original study purpose was summarized, the goal and rules were set up, argument framework was established and dendrogram for logic thinking was outlined, the progress of work was constructed and the meaning of electro luminiscense work was verified through repeated analysis, discussion and arguments. In Chapter Two-Literature Review, Henri Bergson’s philosophy concept of “extending” time was applied to infer the inseparable relationship between time and light art. “Extending” was used at the field of light shape to define the conceptual subject of light art. Through the establishment of aesthetic network argument and the creator’s work, the evolving progress of light art object was verified, and work was further categorized into formats such as “light and image media”, “light and electrical devices”, “light and environmental space”, and “light and laser.” In addition to the establishment of light art network, argument foundation for “extending” was also discussed.

In Chapter Three- Research and Exploration for Electro Luminiscense, the argument model for light art was applied to analyze the media characteristics of electro luminiscense light source. Light art construction map was drawn to decompose its existence status and to derive the construction of “format”, “expression” and “presentation” in time and space. The argument foundation for creating concepts of electro luminiscense art work was established. For format, media characteristics were discussed to verify its “modernity”. For expression, the “icy coldness” was verified through the perspectives such as aesthetics, psychology and science perspective. Finally, for presentation, the concept of “extending” was used to integrate format and expression in order to summarize the core concept of “freeze”. In Chapter Four-Description about Work, the work concept of “freeze” was constructed. Work were categorized into “Suspension Series”, “Cold Body Series”, and “Light in Bottle Series” to express the concept of “constraint”, “reservation” and “suspension” respectively and to explore the author’s creating development. In Chapter Five-Summary, the study was summarized from the perspectives of “study results” and “what had been learned from work.” In “future prospect”, the developing trend of electro luminiscense was predicted. Look at the future prospect by understanding one’s developing direction.
